Depth-of-Field Comparison between Real/Virtual and Focused Mode Integral Imaging Using Fourier Optics
The depth of field of real/virtual and focused mode in three-dimensional integral imaging is taken into account by using the Fourier optics approach and considering the effects of diffraction and defocus aberration. The concepts of point spread function and optical transfer function are applied to three-dimensional integral imaging system and used to investigate the depth of field for both modes.
متن کاملSemantic Depth of Field
We present a new technique called Semantic Depth of Field (SDOF) as an alternative approach to focus-andcontext displays of information. We utilize a well-known method from photography and cinematography (depth-offield effect) for information visualization, which is to blur different parts of the depicted scene in dependence of their relevance. Independent of their spatial locations, objects of...

متن کاملDepth of field in light field rendering
This paper focuses on the sampling problem in light field rendering (LFR) that is a fundamental approach to image based rendering. Quality of LFR depends on a light ray database generated from pre-acquired images, since image synthesis is a process of gathering appropriate light ray data from the database. For improving the quality, interpolation of light ray data is effective. It is based on a...
متن کاملDepth and Deblurring from a Spectrally-Varying Depth-of-Field
We propose modifying the aperture of a conventional color camera so that the effective aperture size for one color channel is smaller than that for the other two. This produces an image where different color channels have different depths-of-field, and from this we can computationally recover scene depth, reconstruct an all-focus image and achieve synthetic re-focusing, all from a single shot. ...
